| abstractText | We examined the intracellular growth of 20 strains within six species of Legionella in thioglycolate-elicited peritoneal macrophages from A/J and C57BL/6 mice and a congenic strain derived from them (A.B Lgn1). With the exception of Legionella pneumophila Togus-1 and Bloomington-2, the intracellular growth of the 15 L. pneumophila strains tested was controlled by Lgn1. However, the intracellular growth of five Legionella species other than L. pneumophila was not under Lgn1's control. |
