| abstractText | The Scn8a<9J> mutation arose spontaneously in the BALB/cJ inbred strain at The Jackson Laboratory in 2006. This mutation is recessive. Homozygotes display an overall body tremor, progressive movement disorders, and reduced longevity. This mutation was proven to be an allele of Scn8a by failed complementation test with a mutant carrying a sequenced Scn8a mutation. |
