molecularNote  Exons 17-19, which span the essential cullin homology domain and neddylation site, were floxed by homologous recombination. A loxP site and a FRT-flanked neomycin cassette were inserted 1.1kb upstream of exon 17 with an additional loxP site inserted 300 bp downstream of exon 19. The neo cassette was subsequently removed by crossing founder mice with FLPe transgenic mice.
