Allele : Rab38<em5Rkuhn> RAB38, member RAS oncogene family; endonuclease-mediated mutation 5, Ralf Kuhn

Primary Identifier  MGI:5544456 Allele Type  Endonuclease-mediated
Gene  Rab38 Strain of Origin  (FVB/NCrl x C57BL/6J-Rab38<cht>)F1
Is Recombinase  false Is Wild Type  false
molecularNote  TALEN-targeted homologous recombination corrected the T to G nucleotide substitution in the chocolate mutation (Rab38cht) by reconstituting the wild-type sequence encoding glycine at position 19 and thereby eliminating the exogenous SexAI restriction site (cht-GTT to wt-GGT). An identifying neutral nucleotide replacement in codon 18 (G to A) was used as a unique sequence identifier. Silent exchanges within the TALEN binding region remove an endogenous ApaLI site. This allele was identified in a line established from founder Rw2.
