| molecularNote | A single loxP site is inserted 3' to exon 5. An Frt-PGK-Neo-Frt-loxP cassette was inserted to the 5'-end of exon 3. The neo cassette was removed by crossing to mice carrying the Frt recombinase driven by the beta-actin promoter, leaving single loxP sites flanking exons 3-5. Cre-mediated recombination resulted in excision of exons 3-5. Western blot analysis confirmed the absence of protein in homozygous mutant tissues. |
