molecularNote  A loxP site was inserted upstream of the coding region and an FRT flanked inverted neo cassette and loxP site were inserted at the end of the coding region via homologous recombination. Cre-mediated recombination removed the coding region and the neo cassette. Western blot and immunofluorescence analysis confirmed the absence of expression in brains from homozygous mice.
