| molecularNote | In ES cells carrying Etl4tm3Gos, a C-terminal GFP was fused in frame in place of the stop codon in exon 21 and a floxed pgk-neo cassette was inserted in intron 20 via homologous recombination. Cre-mediated recombination deleted a further 273 kb region including exons 6-20 in addition to the 595 kb region that had been deleted in Etl4tm3Gos. Western blot analysis confirmed the absence of both full length and any truncated form of the protein in homozygous mice. |
