| molecularNote | This transgene was produced by microinjection of fertilized mouse oocytes with the yeast artificial chromosome (YAC) designated YRT3, which contained the tyrosinase gene from the normally-pigmented C3H mouse strain and its 5' flanking DNA through the locus control region (LCR) ~12 kb upstream of the gene, but lacked more 5' sequences. Expression of the transgene is demonstrated by its complete rescue of the pigment phenotype of albino (Tyrc/Tyrc) mice. This transgenic line has not been published. |
