molecularNote  An improved cre (icre) gene was inserted downstream of the prostate-specific composite promoter that consists of two androgen response elements (ARR2) and mouse probasin (Pbsn) promoter. A total of 94 founders was generated. Line 58 with the detectable icre mRNA expression by RTPCR in the prostate was kept for further analyses. The expression of icre was mostly limited to the prostate gland with a trace expression in the seminal vesicle.
