| molecularNote | A targeting vector contained LoxP sites flanking the major coding exon 2 of Hic1, a PGK-neo cassette flanked by FRT sites distal to exon 2 and upstream of the 3' LoxP site. An IRES-NLS-LacZ cassette distal to the 3' LoxP site (downstream of exon 2) was added to enable the efficient identification of Hic1 deleted cells.
