| abstractText | The retinal neovascularization 6 mutation (rnv6) was discovered in the F2 intercross mice of B6.Cg-Crb1+ Jak3m1J/Boc (JAX Stock No. 031587) and C57BL/6J (JAX Stock No. 000664) in which the mice with the phenotype lacked the Jak3m1J mutation (confirmed by genotyping forJak3m1J ). Mice homozygous for this recessive mutation on a predominantly C57BL/6J background develop ocular neovascularization as early as 3 weeks of age. Subsequent to the identification in the N1F2 population, the mutation was maintained by breeding the siblings with the best rnv6 phenotype at each generation. In early 2022 sperm was cryopreserved from homozygous males at generation N1F23. We named this strain B6.Cg-Jak3+ rnv6/Boc (Jax Stock No. 036995). |
