A loxP site flanked neomycin resistance gene cassette that was inserted was removed through subsequent Cre-mediated recombination. The chimpanzee enhancer drives Gbx2 expression in the embryonic fore- and hindlimb buds and other sites in a pattern similar to the endogenous mouse enhancer. |
