abstractText  PU.1 is a member of the transcription factor family Ets that is expressed selectively on B cells, myeloid cells and macrophages. PU.1 regulates the expression of several genes, including those encoding immunoglobulins, receptors and enzymes. The expression of these genes is crucial for macrophage and B-cell differentiation and for the functional activity of neutrophils.
