| abstractText | Using a rat x mouse somatic cell hybrid that contains chromosome 11 as the only mouse material, we have shown that myeloperoxidase, which maps to human chromosome 17, maps to mouse chromosome 11. Regional assignment of the gene by in situ hybridization localized Mpo to the region C-E1, with a peak at band 11C. These results further confirm and extend observations on the remarkable homology between human chromosome 17 and mouse 11. |
