| abstractText | We have cloned the cDNA encoding the rat tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase 1 (TIMP-1) from a cDNA library derived from healing skin wounds. The deduced amino acid (aa) sequence shows 66, 35 and 34% identity with human TIMP-1 and TIMP-2, and chicken TIMP-3 aa sequences, respectively. High-level expression of rat TIMP-1 RNA was detected in the skin wounds and in normal ovary. |
