| abstractText | The expression of hepatic stearoyl-CoA desaturase (SCD1) mRNA abundance and the fatty acid profile in male and female mice were compared. The expression of the SCD1 mRNA is significantly higher in female compared to male mice and that this difference is accompanied by higher levels of palmitoleic and oleic acid in the livers of female mice. |
