abstractText  There has been controversy regarding the role of AMPK in cancer, some of which may be due to functional differences between isoforms. In this issue of Cancer Cell, Vila et al. report that UBE2O, a ubiquitin ligase overexpressed in some human cancers, specifically triggers the ubiquitination and degradation of AMPK-alpha2.
