| abstractText | Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is highly heterogeneous. In this issue of Cancer Cell, Ireland et al. demonstrate that MYC mediates neuroendocrine cell plasticity in SCLC by activating NOTCH signaling. This MYC-NOTCH axis controls the dynamic behavior of tumor cells, resulting in the co-existence of SCLC subtypes within individual tumors. |
