| abstractText | Full text of Mouse Genome contribution: GENETIC IMPRINTING MAP. This map of the mouse autosomal genome shows regions of normal and defective complementation (imprinted regions) and is based on the original map of Searle & Beechey (Cytogenet. Cel1 Genet. 20:282-303, 1978). Chromosomes are represented once if untested, show normal complementation (no imprinting), or give differential recoveries of complementation offspring in reciprocal intercrosses (M, shortage of maternal, and P, shortage of paternal disomy offspring). Otherwise, the findings with maternal duplication/paternal deficiency (M) and with paternal duplication/maternal deficiency (P) are displayed separately. Symbols for Robertsonian translocations (Rb1Bnr etc.) used to identify chromosomes showing imprinting effects are placed above the chromosomes concerned; symbols for reciprocal translocations (T13H etc.) which currently define the imprinting regions are placed at their respective approximate breakpoint positions. Imprinted genes are shown in italics. Consequences of the imprinting effects in each region are indicated. Chromosomes are drawn to scale with their numbers placed at the top. References for currently known imprinting regions, imprinted genes, and possible differential recovery are given in chromosomal order. References given are those showing the first evidence of imprinting, and none are given for the extensive earlier work that defined regions not subject to imprinting. C.V. Beechey & B.M.
