| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Chromosome 17. The above crosses involving B6 (Glo-la, Ssh, Pgk-2a) and MA (Glo-lb, Ss1, Pgk-2b) have also been used to order the indicated chromosome 17 loci. Seventy-one (B6 x MA)Fl x MA and 32 MA x (B6 x MA)Fl male backcross progeny inherited the following gametes from the Fl hybrid parent: 46 aha, 55 blb, 1 bla and 1 alb. Assuming that both of the recombinants recovered from these crosses have resulted from single crossover events, these data indicate that Pgk-2 and Glo-1 lie on opposite sides of Ss. Based upon the frequency with which Glo-1 and Ss recombine (8/315 = 2.5% among the animals from several different crosses which we have typed to date) and the data from H-2 congenic strains indicating that Pgk-2 lies t o the right of H-2, our results suggest that Glo-1 is located to theleft of the murine major histocompatibility complex. |
