Indophenol Oxidase*: Beside the two already known Ipo-1<a> and Ipo-1<b> alleles, we discovered within a single individual of B.G.I. from Greece an ultra-slow allele, Ipo-1<c>, which migrates cathodally at pH 9.1. It segregates in this population in a mendelian fashion, and among the three possible heterotetramers in heterozygotes, the IPO AC<3> and CA<3> isozymes are hardly visible, while IPO A<2>C<2> is normally active. |
