abstractText  Full text of Mouse Genome contribution: Nomenclature of ATPase Loci. The nomenclature of the ATPase loci has been changed slightly to reflect homology with human loci. The following table lists the homologous mouse and human loci that have been identified to date. Mouse Symbols: Old: Atpa-1; New: Atp1a1; Human Symbol: ATP1A1; Name: ATPase, Na+K+, alpha 1 polypeptide. Mouse Symbols: Old: Atpa-3; New: Atp1a2; Human Symbol: ATP1A2; Name: ATPase, Na+K+, alpha 2 polypeptide. Mouse Symbols: Old: Atpa-2; New: Atp1a3; Human Symbol: ATP1A3; Name: ATPase, Na+K+, alpha 3 polypeptide. Mouse Symbols: Old: -; New: Atp2a(RE)*; Human Symbol: ATP2A; Name: ATPase, Ca++ transporting, fast twitch, cardiac muscle. Mouse Symbols: Old: -; New: Atp2b(RE); Human Symbol: ATP2B; Name: ATPase, Ca++ transporting, slow twitch, cardiac muscle. Mouse Symbols: Old: -; New: Atp3a(RE); Human Symbol: ATP3A; Name: ATPase, Mg+ dependent. Mouse Symbols: Old: -; New: Atp4b**; Human Symbol: ATP4B; Name: ATPase, proton K+, beta polypeptide, gastric specific. Mouse Symbols: Old: Atpb-1; New: Atp1b1; Human Symbol: ATP1B1; Name: ATPase, Na+K+, beta 1 polypeptide. Mouse Symbols: Old: Atpb-2; New: Atp1b2; Human Symbol: ATP1B2; Name: ATPase, Na+K+, beta 2 polypeptide. Mouse Symbols: Old: -; New: Atpm(RE); Human Symbol: ATPM; Name: ATPase, mitochondrial. *(RE) = reserved symbol ** recently mapped by Dr. Levenson's group. M. Davisson, The Jackson Laboratory; R. Levenson, Yale University.
