abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Linkage data. 2. Linkage of Biliverdin reductase, Blvr. A genetically determined electrophoretic variant of biliverdin reductase has been found. The inbred strains BALB/c, CBA/CaH-+p, TFH/H-T and SM/J have the faster migrating BLVRB phenotype whereas C3H/HeH, CS7BL/H-a<t>, 101/H and the Harwell linkage testing stocks LI, LII, LIII, LIVA, LVC and LVI have the slower migrating BLVRA phenotype. Fl progeny from BLVRA crossed to BLVRB mice have the BLVRAB phenotype which appears to be a simple mixture of both parental phenotypes, indicating that the enzyme is a monomer. Blvr has been located on chromosome 2. Using the linkage testing stock LIII which carries a, fz, ln, v, ep and Blvr, and CBA/CaHw-+p which carries Blvr 52 progeny from the BC (LIII x CBA/CaH-+p) females x LIII males have been tested. There was no evidence of linkage of Blvr to fz, ln, v or ep but 21 Blvra/Blvra, 24 Blvr+/Blvra, 3 Blvr+/Blvra, and 4 Blvra/Blvr a were found. The recombination percentage between Blvr and a is 13.5 +/- 4.7. (von Deimling, Peters and S. Povey (MRC Human Biochemical Genetics Unit)) |
