| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: New Linkages: b. An electrophoretic variant of the enzyme 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase, PGD was observed in samples of M. musculus musculus from the Jutland peninsula of Denmark. In the backcrosses and the F2 progeny, the electrophoretic variant segregated as a single autosomal gene. The designation Pgd is proposed for this locus, with Pgd-a the electrophoretic form observed in all inbred strains tested and Pgd-b the allelic designation for the Danish variant. Close linkage with the Gpd-1 locus on chromosome 4 was observed (1.6 +/- .3%) with a gene order of Pgm-2 -- pgd -- Gpd. |
