| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Research News: Mapping of reduced pigmentation, rp. Together with Dr. John Shire, Institute of Genetics, Glasgow, we have mapped rp to chromosome 7. Analyses of several enzymatic genes in 204 animals of a (C57BL/10 x DBA/2) x C57BL/10 BC gave negative results for Idh-1, Gur, Mod-1, Bgs and Es-3. A first attempt to link to rp to Hbb failed but in combination with Gpi-1 we got the following distributions of phenotypes: rp; GpiBL; HbbBL; 55 black; GpiF1; HbbF1; 54 rp; GpiF1; HbbF1; 8 black; GpiBL; HbbBL; 13 rp; GpiBL; HbbF1; 33 black; GpiF1; HbbBL; 40 rp; GpiF1; HbbBL; 1 black; GpiBL; HbbF1; 0. The most likely location of rp is thus at the proximal end of chromosome 7, 10.8 +/- 2.2 cM from Gpi-1. |
