| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: New mutants: We would like to claim two gene symbols, namely Mtv-1 and Mtv-2. These symbols represent mouse mammary tumor virus induction genes, only one of which is linked so far. Thus Mtv-1, the induction gene for C3Hf-MTV in the C3Hf strain is linked with c and Gpi-1. The Mtv-2 gene, which is the induction gene for GR-MTV of the GR mouse strain, has not been linked yet, although more than 20 markers have been used in linkage studies. These new genes, involved in mammary carcinogenesis in their respective strains will be described in the following papers: Mtv-1 in Van Nie, R. and A.A.
