| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Correction: The previous listing (MNL No. 43) of a new anemia-producing locus, Fdc, must be corrected, since further tests showed this mutant to be just one more allele at the W locus. Crosses between heterozygous carriers of the new mutation and W/+ heterozygotes produced approximately 1/4 severely anemic offspring in 14 to 16 day fetal litters. Also, the new mutant appeared to be at or near the W locus in L.G. XVII, closely linked to Pgm-1. Since this new W mutant, which occurred in C3H/J, has no special distinguishing features, we do not plan to maintain it. (Russell) |
