| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: I am writing to report an electrophoretic variant of another enzyme, NADP-malate dehydrogenase ("malic" enzyme). I have found two isozymes of the enzyme, one found in mitochondrial fraction of heart tissue and one found in the supernatant fraction of liver tissue. This electrophoretic variant is of the liver supernatant isozyme and does not affect the other isozyme. Each strain of mice contains only one of two variants of the enzyme, and as expected, there is segregation of the two phenotypes in the F2 generation. Preliminary genetic data indicate that the gene controlling this enzyme is linked to the dilute locus and therefore is in linkage group II. |
