| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Following the report by Sohaible that Ames dwarf (df) and Rex (Re) are linked (Genetics 46:896, 1961) additional linkage data were collected. Homozygous dwarf males that became fertile after growth hormone therapy were used in the following crosses. Female: df Re/++ X male: df +/df +. Total progeny: 219. Recombinants: 40. Percent recombination: 18.3+2.6 Female: df +/+ Re X male: df +/df +. Total progeny: 119. Recombinants: 41. Percent recombination: 34.4 + 4.4 There is no apparent explanation for the difference in recombination between coupling and repulsion crosses. |
