| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: 7. In translocations T(10;?)199H the break in linkage group X is near the locus of grizzled, gr. Backcrosses of T199 +/+ v x + v/+ v gave: T199 +, 21; T199 v, 1; + +, 11; + v, 28, with a recombination of 12/61 or 19.5%, and offspring of T199 +/+ gr x + gr/+ gr were: T199 +, 29; T199 gr, 2; + +, 0; + gr, 15, giving a recombination of 2/46 or 4.3%. This suggests that the order is v-gr-T199 break, but because of the fairly small numbers of animals the order v-T199 break gr is not ruled out. O.J. Miller et al. have identified the other chromosome in T199 as carrying linkage group XIV or XVII, and tests to determine which are in progress. (Lyon MF and Glenister P). |
