| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: 2. New translocations: a) T(4;9)45H. This was recovered after 8 Gy gonadal X-irradiation of Rb(4.15)4Rma homozygous males, mated to Fl(C3H x 101) females in the first and second weeks after exposure. Sons were screened by testis biopsy for reciprocal translocations induced in the 4.15 metacentric chromosome, especially those which involved Chr 15 and might help in studies on the Myc and other oncogenes located on that chromosome. None such were found but T45H appeared in a male from one of the week 2 matings. Backcrosses of T45H ++/+b m to brown misty mice gave the following phenotypes:- 25 T45H, showed that the two translocations shared a common chromosome. Linkage tests with d se have now shown that T45H is close to these loci on Chr 9, with only 2/40 recombinants so far. Banding studies are in progress. (Beechey and Searle) |
