abstractText  Sequence of a lambda clone isolated from a mouse genomic library contained a microsatellite marker that consists of a 24 (CA) repeat. To assess this marker, we designed a PCR assay flanking this repeat. Amplification product for the C57BL/6 genomic DNA was 207bp whereas the Mus spretus (SPRET/Ei) DNA was ~215bp, demonstrating a strain polymorphism. Using the Jackson Laboratory's BSS and BSB backcross panels, this polymorphic marker was mapped to mouse Chromosome 16 and colocalized with the markers D16Xrf348 and D16Ertd450e, at 29.9cM from the centromere.
