abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Linkage analysis of the X-linked gene involved in the initiation of transition from G1 to S phase of the cell cycle. A series of interspecific backcross offspring previously characterized for eight X-linked genes (Mullins et al., Genomics 3:187-194, 1988) was used to establish the linkage of a molecularly defined locus that complements the temperature sensitive cell cycle mutant BN462 (Sekiguchi et al., EMBO J. 7:1683-1687, 1988). Using a set of known recombinants between successive anchor loci, the locus for Ccgl was established to lie distal to a cluster of genes (Rsvp, G6pd and Cf-8) that were non-recombinant in our backcross of 203 interspecific backcross offspring. Additional linkage analysis has placed the gene proximal but close to Pgk-1 as defined by a single recombinant. The position of the Ccgl locus is consistent with the linkage established in man. (Brown et al., Somat. Cell. Mol. Genet. 15:93-96, 1989). (D.A. Stephenson, B. Keitz, S.G. Grant, L.J. Mullins, V.M. Chapman). |
