| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Linkage Data: 3. Recombination between Tw and ax. In the published data on the linkage of Tw and,ax (chromosome 18) no recombinants were found and no estimate of the recombination fraction was given. A considerable additional body of data has been collected since then, including some recombinants. Parents: Tw+/+ax X Tw+/+ax; Offspring: Tw+: 66; Twax: 1; ++: a?; +ax: 29. Parents: Tw+/+ax X ++/+ax; Offspring: Tw+: 383; Twax: 2+2?; ++: 290; +ax: 188. These data show that the Tw+ axax type is viable and distinguishable. The two queried Tw ax did not live long enough for their ax classification to be really certain, and the one queried ++ may have been a normal overlap for Tw. In view of these uncertainties, the recombination cannot be calculated accurately, but is of the order of 1%. (Lyon) |
