abstractText  Full text of MNL contribution: Research News: 1. Cytoplasmic aldehyde dehydrogenase - a new biochemical variant (Ahd-2). Inherited electrophoretic variants of the cytoplasmic isozyme of aldehyde dehydrogenase (designated AHD-Bx) have been observed among 22 inbred strains, linkage testing stocks and translocation stocks. Mapping studies of the structural gene locus (provisionally designated Ahd-2) are currently underway. The common allele is designated Ahd-2a and the variant allele (observed in NZB/B1, NZC/B1, NZW/Hall and SJL/J strains), Ahd-2b. (Timms and Holmes)
