| description | Little is known about the timing and factors which regulate the specification of neuronal subtypes in the cochlear spiral ganglion. Here we collect Spiral Ganglion Neurons (SGNs) from the mouse across four developmental timepoints (E14, E16, E18 and P1) in order to transciptionally profile their development. We dissected mouse cochleas at E14,E16, E18 and P1, removing as much non-neuronal tissue as possible, and pooling samples from 5 different embryos/pups. The tissue was dissociated and single SGNs captured and transcriptionally profiled using 10x Chromium and Illumina sequencing platforms. At E16 the spiral ganglion was cut in half and collected in apical and basal sections. Three individual biological replicates were collected at each age, except P1 where 2 replicates were collected |
