description | Mammalian Naa10p, encoded by NAA10, is the only known enzyme capable of catalyzing both N-alpha-acetylation of nascent proteins in cytosol and epsilon-acetylation of internal lysines of proteins. Both enzyme-dependent and -independent functions of Naa10p are associated with cancer and some genetic diseases with developmental defects. To examine the function of Naa10p in development, we generated Naa10-KO mice by deleting exons 2 to 6 of Naa10 gene, which encode all putative isoforms of Naa10p. RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) analysis of 2 WT and 2 Naa10p-KO embryos from the same litter was performed. mRNA profiles of 2 Naa10-KO and 2 littermate WT embryos were generated by deep sequencing, using Illumina HiSeq 2000. |
