| description | The objective was to determine how binge ethanol and knockout of the catalase gene affect the transcriptome of the femoral shaft in mice. Mice were of two genotypes, Catalase knockout mice (Cat -/-) and wild-type mice (Cat +/+). At 12 weeks of age, mice received either binge ethanol in the form of 3, 3, 4, and 4.5 g ethanol/kg body weight by gavage from a 31.5 % (v/v) ethanol solution on four consecutive days or isovolumetric amounts of PBS. Femoral shaft RNA was isolated. Each sample is a pool of femoral shaft RNA from two male mice. |
