| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Linkage data: 4. Location of Sleek. The autosomal dominant mutation Sleek (Slk), a mimic of dl, cr and Ta (Cattanach; MNL 53: 29), has been located near v and dl on chromosome 10. Crosses of Slk +/+ v females x +v/+v males have produced the following progeny, Slk + 99, +v 111, ++1, Slk v 3; total 214. This gives a recombination frequency between Slk and v of 1.9 +/- 0.9%. Backcrosses of Slk+/+dl x +dl/+dl have so far given 148 progeny all of which have shown the mutant phenotype. This indicates that Slk and dl are less than 4.8 crossover units apart with 95% certainty. The Slk-dl allelism tests are still in progress and 3-point linkage tests with v and gr are underway (Crocker). |
