By contrast with T(4;6)2Bnr there is no evidence of crossover suppression between hr and s in heterozygotes for T(9;l4)6Bnr. The progeny of intercrosses of TB6 + +/+ hr s x TB6 + +/+ hr s were + +, 128; hr +, 22; + s, 13; hr s, 4l; giving hr-s recombination of 17.7 +/- 3.0%. 22 hr s offspring were karyotyped. giving TB6/TB6, 1; TB6/+, 10; ++, 11. This indicates a centromere-hr recombination of about 27%, but this is only approximate because double crossovers, with a second chiasma in the hr-s segment, were excluded and the possibility of crossover suppression cannot be ruled out.
