abstractText | Full text of Mouse Genome contribution: GENETlC IMPRINTING MAP The map shows the autosomes of the mouse in which one or more regions have been shown to be subject to imprinting. The map is not exclusive; regions of other chromosomes that are untested or not investigated for post-natal effects are not shown, but are indicated on the map. For each of the six chromosomes depicted the imprinting effects observed with maternal duplication/paternal deficiency (M) and with paternal duplication/maternal deficiency (P) are distinguished. Symbols for Robertsonian translocations (Rb1Bnr etc.) used to identify pairs of chromosomes with imprinting effects are shown above each chromosome; symbols for those reciprocal translocations (T1Ca etc.) which currently define the imprinting regions are shown in bold and indicate their approximate breakpoint positions. Other reciprocal translocations that have been used previously to define or investigate imprinting regions are also identified. Imprinted genes are shown in italics, the arrow heads indicating the parental allele that is repressed. References for imprinted genes and currently known imprinting regions are given below in chromosomal order. In the case of the latter, they specify only those papers presenting the first evidence of imprinting in the region concerned. References are not given for the extensive work that defined regions NOT subject to imprinting. C.V. Beechey & B.M.
