Primary Identifier | MGI:2145448 | Organism | mouse, laboratory |
Chromosome | 13 | NCBI Gene Number | 105377 |
Mgi Type | protein coding gene |
description | FUNCTION: Automated description from the Alliance of Genome Resources (Release 8.0.0) Enables ubiquitin protein ligase binding activity. Involved in DNA damage response. Located in centrosome; cytoplasm; and nuclear inclusion body. Part of nucleosome. Is expressed in cerebral cortex marginal layer; cerebral cortex subventricular zone; cerebral cortex ventricular layer; cortical plate; and medulla oblongata basal plate mantle layer. Orthologous to human SLF1 (SMC5-SMC6 complex localization factor 1). PHENOTYPE: Homozygous null mice are developmentally normal and fertile with no pathological abnormalities or defects in T-cell development and genomic stability. Mutant MEFs grow at a normal rate and are not more sensitive to DNA-damaging agents while thymocytes donot show any major cell cycle defects. [provided by MGI curators] |
