Chromosome | 14 | NCBI Gene Number | 27062 |
Mgi Type | protein coding gene |
description | FUNCTION: Automated description from the Alliance of Genome Resources (Release 8.0.0) Enables protein kinase binding activity. Involved in presynaptic dense core vesicle exocytosis and synaptic vesicle priming. Acts upstream of or within catecholamine secretion; establishment of localization in cell; and vesicle organization. Located in cytoplasmic vesicle. Is active in glutamatergic synapse. Is expressed in several structures, including adrenal gland; heart; nervous system; olfactory epithelium; and retina. Orthologous to human CADPS (calcium dependent secretion activator). PHENOTYPE: Homozygous null mice display neonatal lethality, respiratory failure and abnormal adrenal gland physiology. Adult heterozygous null mice display abnormal adrenal gland physiology that is different from that seen in homozygous neonates. [provided by MGI curators] |
