Primary Identifier | MGI:97142 | Organism | mouse, laboratory |
Chromosome | 2 | NCBI Gene Number | 17533 |
Mgi Type | protein coding gene |
description | FUNCTION: Automated description from the Alliance of Genome Resources (Release 8.0.0) Enables D-mannose binding activity and transmembrane signaling receptor activity. Acts upstream of or within cellular response to interleukin-4; cellular response to lipopolysaccharide; and cellular response to type II interferon. Located in cell surface. Is expressed in several structures, including hemolymphoid system; intestine; liver; lung; and yolk sac. Orthologous to human MRC1 (mannose receptor C-type 1). PHENOTYPE: Male homozygotes for one targeted null mutation die in utero. Heterozygous females clear lutropin from the circulation more slowly and have smaller litters due to reduced implantation. Another targeted knockout is viable and homozygotes are less susceptible to parasitic infection. [provided by MGI curators] |
