Primary Identifier | MGI:1918142 | Organism | mouse, laboratory |
Chromosome | 3 | NCBI Gene Number | 70892 |
Mgi Type | protein coding gene |
description | FUNCTION: Automated description from the Alliance of Genome Resources (Release 8.0.0) Enables tubulin-glutamic acid ligase activity. Involved in protein polyglutamylation. Located in 9+0 non-motile cilium and ciliary basal body. Is expressed in 1-cell stage embryo and 8-cell stage embryo. Orthologous to human TTLL7 (tubulin tyrosine ligase like 7). PHENOTYPE: Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele exhibit increased body weight, impaired coordination, behavioral despair, and increased locomotor activity. Brain lysates show a significant reduction in polyglutamylated beta-tubulins. [provided by MGI curators] |
