Protein Coding Gene : Enho energy homeostasis associated

Primary Identifier  MGI:1916888 Organism  mouse, laboratory
Chromosome  4 NCBI Gene Number  69638
Mgi Type  protein coding gene
description  FUNCTION: Automated description from the Alliance of Genome Resources (Release 8.0.0)

Enables hormone activity. Acts upstream of or within positive regulation of Notch signaling pathway. Located in plasma membrane. Is expressed in ductus deferens; epididymis; esophagus; ileum; and prostate gland. Orthologous to human ENHO (energy homeostasis associated).
PHENOTYPE: Mice homozygous for a null allele show reduced locomotor activity and impaired coordination. Mice homozygous for a different null allele display partial preweaning lethality, increased adiposity, dyslipidemia, hypoactivity and insulin resistance on a chow diet, as well as increased severity of impaired glucose tolerance and hepatic steatosis after high-fat feeding.
