Involved in flagellated sperm motility. Is active in axonemal A tubule inner sheath and sperm flagellum. Is expressed in several structures, including brain; genitourinary system; lung; node; and sensory organ. Orthologous to human CFAP161 (cilia and flagella associated protein 161).
PHENOTYPE: Mice homozygous for one null allele display no phenotypes related to cilia dysfunction. Mice homozygous for a second null allele display enlarged thyroid glands and spleens, and abnormal mouth and mammary gland morphology. [provided by MGI curators]
