Primary Identifier | MGI:1929214 | Organism | mouse, laboratory |
Chromosome | 8 | NCBI Gene Number | 64933 |
Mgi Type | protein coding gene |
description | FUNCTION: Automated description from the Alliance of Genome Resources (Release 8.0.0) Involved in anterograde synaptic vesicle transport and synaptic vesicle endocytosis. Is active in GABA-ergic synapse and glutamatergic synapse. Is expressed in central nervous system; ganglia; and sensory organ. Orthologous to human AP3M2 (adaptor related protein complex 3 subunit mu 2). PHENOTYPE: Homozygous null mice suffer from spontaneous recurrent epileptic seizures, are more susceptible to drug-induced seizures and show impaired GABA release, fewer synaptic vesicles, enhanced long-term potentiation, and abnormal propagation of neuronal excitability via the temporoammonic pathway.
