| abstractText | Full text of Mouse Genome contribution: Research News: 2. Oscillator (ot). The ot (oscillator) mutation is a probably remutation at the spd (spasmodic) locus on Chromosome 11. An allele test between a heterozygous (+/spd) female from the strain B6C3Fe-a/a-spd mated to a heterozygous (+/ot) male from the C57BL/6J-ot strain yielded two affected animals in a total of eighteen progeny. Less than one-fourth of the progeny were affected but this deficiency could be due to the small sample size and/or background differences. The symbol for oscillator has been officially changed to spdot. Both oscillator and spasmodic remain available for sales and are listed in JAX Mice with stock numbers JR 0536 and JR 1278, respectively. (Susan A. Cook) |
