| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Research news: New mutant: A new recessive neurological mutant has arisen spontaneously in the Q-strain. Homozygotes are recognizable at about 5 days. They develop spastic paralysis and most die at 3 - 4 weeks. Superficially rather like Trembler, but paralysis more severe, and the tremor and convulsions are absent. Identity tests with similar mutants have not been made: the gene is provisionally called 'spastic'. ( Falconer). |
